     In the previous two articles we talked about keys to success on a personal level. Ideas we can adopt internally to lead us to success, such as the need to change, the need to take action. Both are critical attitudes without which we will never succeed. If we are unwilling to change the things we are doing wrong, how do we expect to succeed? If we never take action, how do we expect to ever succeed? The next attitude I would like to discuss is the attitude of believing in yourself.  I believe this is the most important attitude we need to adopt.

Leaders are readers! Most people fill their minds with garbage. Hence; the saying, garbage in, garbage out. Read books that will help you become a better person. Most people don’t like to read. Here is an area that you need to be willing to change. Second, find a mentor. Successful leaders are willing to mentor others. They are excited and happy to pass on what they know. There is an old saying: When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Find a successful online business that has a good support system. There are a few that have a tremendous support system and are willing to mentor you. You need people around you who are willing to speak positively into your life. If people are speaking negatively around you, RUN. Don’t listen to it. Third, speak positively to yourself. I know it sounds stupid, but it’s one of the most important things you can do. Speak positive things out loud to yourself. When your ears hear these things enough, your mind will start to believe what it hears. Write down on paper things you want to change in your life and read them out loud to yourself several times a day. If you do this consistently every day, belief will build in your mind. When you add belief with the willingness to change and taking steps of action, things will start to truly change for the good in your life.

     In part one of this topic we discussed how involving others in your online, in-home business duplicates your efforts. We saw that working a job limits a person to just their own efforts. We will only be paid so much of a wage. We can only work so many hours. We are simply limited to what we can earn working a job. But involving other people in our business and teaching them to involve others in their business, literally duplicates our efforts. But there is another aspect to this topic I would like to discuss.

     When we involve others in our business, we never want to have the attitude that others are working for us. This is a mistaken, selfish attitude. When you involve someone else in your opportunity, you are now a leader. It’s your obligation to the people under you to be the best leader you can be. The top outstanding leaders in any industry are constantly working at putting others first. As leaders in this industry we need to convey to our new members that they are in business for themselves. They are building their own business so they may reach their own dreams and goals. We must also convey to them that we are here to help them achieve those dreams and goals. They had or still have a boss. They sure don’t need or want another one!

     I can’t stress enough how important the attitude of selflessness and putting others first really is. When new people come into our online in-home business opportunity they want to know four basic things: One, does it really work? Two, will you help me? Three, can I really do this? And four, can I really achieve my dreams and goals with this home based business. Most new people we involve in our online opportunity are going to be scared or apprehensive. They are hoping to be involved with real people who will help them. It’s our obligation as leaders to put them at ease. To let them know that we are there and we will help them. This online in-home business model allows us to fulfill the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” When we treat and train people in this manner, they will do the same with the people they involve in their own business.

     When you truly want to see others succeed more than yourself, then you will have a huge business. This industry of internet marketing and online business opportunities is truly a people business. If no one gets into your business, you don’t have a business. I believe the real key is to be the kind of person that people want to get into business with. Be the kind of person that puts others first. I believe that attitude will keep each one of us grounded and focused in a positive way. Have you ever wondered why most celebrities end up becoming real “nut cases.” I believe it’s because their whole focus is on themselves. The focus of their money, their career and everything else is simply for themselves. They end up totally detached from reality. The reality is that we are put here on this earth to serve others in some capacity or another. We are not put here to be served. With the current recession seeming like it’s never going to end (although it will eventually), many people are looking at their dwindling bank accounts and wondering where they’re going to get the money to take care of basic needs.
